Congratulations to new Vincent’s Member and next year’s Oxford’s Men’s Varsity Boxing Captain, Roberto Lacourt.
Roberto, who is also a Vincents Awardee this year in support of his boxing programme, was presented with Boxer of the Year Awards at last week’s OUABC Dinner held upstairs at Vincent’s by returning Blues’ Captain, Robin Duggan. Fellow returning Blue, Paul Newton gave the introductory speech.
Roberto is a four time GB National Champion and BUCS Gold medallist and not only one of the university’s current leading sportspeople but widely thought of as the one of the OUABC’s best ever boxers.
Currently studying chemistry at Univ, Roberto has GB representation and the 2028 Olympics in his sights and a possible career in professional boxing.
He will be spearheading the OUABC team as it seeks revenge next year at the Varsity Boxing Match in Cambridge.
