Vincent’s Club Today

A message from Harry Fitzpatrick, President 2019/20

Vincent’s has been the iconic home of sport at Oxford University since 1863, with countless gifted sportspeople passing through as members and guests over the years. The Club’s role within the Oxford sporting landscape remains as important as ever. Year on year our scholarship programme and outreach work continue to grow and improve, and the Club remains at the heart of the sporting social scene; its charm and spirit upheld by our increasingly diverse membership.
Our recently refurbished King Edward Street Clubhouse provides a smart and conveniently located venue to enjoy informal lunches, drinks events, and dinners. I look forward to welcoming members and their guests up to the Club soon.

Harry Fitzpatrick, President 2019/20

Conference Facilities

There is nowhere in Oxford quite like Vincent’s Club. Founded in 1863, it has been in its present premises in the City Centre for more than 80 years. Its atmosphere is unique, with a strong sporting ethos as evidenced by the photographs and memorabilia hanging on its walls.

With a major redevelopment completed in the spring of 2014, the Club aims to help to fund its day to day activities and overheads by letting out the premises during the vacations. The aim is to make the refurbishment, so generously made possible by old members of the Club, work to help generate extra income through conference hire and private dining. The Club is now fully equipped with the most up-to-date facilities including a lift, and yet it retains much of its old familiar feeling and tradition.

Conference Hire

The Club’s dining room on the third floor has one of the finest views in Oxford, looking out over the High Street. It can seat 60+ theatre style, or 40+ at tables facing forward. Full audio/visual equipment is available to hire. All types of meals, in addition to teas and coffees can be provided. The Club has a fully licensed bar.
There is also a seminar room on the third floor which can seat 20 theatre style and 12 around the table. This can be hired either on its own or as “break-out” room in combination with the dining room.

Private Dining

The Club’s dining room seats up to 60, and is available throughout the year, although during term time the Club’s resident membership will take priority. The seminar room is available for smaller and more intimate parties.
Our Chef has the experience and ability to compete with the finest of the college chefs, and the Club’s menus and wine is extremely competitively priced. As our food is sourced from Oxford’s Covered Market, ingredients are fresh and the chef is flexible with requests. We are also able to source wines at all levels.

Lounge and Bar

On the second floor the newly re-ordered bar and lounge are furnished throughout with Timothy Oulton leather furniture. These comfortable and atmospheric rooms are available in addition to the dining room and the seminar room, or separately for other functions.
