2022 Award Winners

"It is a true honour and privilege to be the Charity Director with oversight on the Vincent’s Awards. Thank you to all the donors who have endowed the awards, the selection committee, the Club committee, and the outstanding candidates. This year we again had a strong diverse field for the Vincent’s Awards. Our Sir Roger Bannister Scholar, Jake Watson, is a high-achieving 3rd year engineering undergraduate at Brasenose, who will propel from 4th in the UK senior ranks through using the £10,000 award to fund a proper set of training poles. The 21 Awardees were mixed by gender, sport and College: 9 women: 12 men; 12 different sports; 18 Colleges – all terrific young people with extraordinary sporting and academic talent, and a strong commitment to helping others. Going forward, we would like to see the Club’s outreach work result in c 50% more applicants (target 75), a more diverse set of applicants, and a greater share of the applicants being not yet at Oxford. Thank you to everyone for your support for the Vincent’s Awards."
